Welcome Message
Amidst the cold of winter's reign, the world will soon be reborn and springtime's warmth shall be adorned. Three years of the Covid-19 pandemic have come to an end and I am pleased to announce that the 7th Asian Academic Congress for Temporomandibular Joint, originally planned for 2021 but was postponed for 2 years, will be held in Beijing on October 19-21, 2023. Concurrently, we will also be holding the 20th Annual Meeting of Chinese Society of Temporomandibular Disorders and Occlusion.
The theme of this conference is "Challenges of Treating Juvenile TMJ degenerative disease". Unlike other joints in the body, TMJ degenerative disease is commonly seen in adolescents and can cause not just TMJ pain and/or dysfunction but also dental and maxillofacial disharmonies. How can we achieve early diagnosis and prevention? How can we effectively intervene and when? What are the etiological and pathological mechanisms? This series of questions need to be answered through rigorous clinical research and scientific-based experiments. They will be addressed by experts and researchers specializing in TMJ, oral medicine, oral radiology, oral and maxillofacial surgery, orthodontics, and prosthodontics from across the nation and various Asian countries. Our desire for this congress is to establish relationships and collaborations for advancing the science and practice of temporomandibular joint disorders and diseases.
Peking University Hospital of Stomatology and Chinese PLA General Hospital will jointly host this congress. We are fully committed to ensuring the successful organization of this congress and providing an enriching experience for all attendees.
We look forward to meeting with you at the upcoming congress in Beijing!
